Bodhgaya Varanasi 5 Days Tour
Day 01: Arrive Gaya – Bodhgaya
Varanasi Bodhgaya - 5 days tour starts here. Pickup from the Gaya International Airport & drive to Bodhgaya (12 kms / 30 mins). On arrival transfer to the hotel. Evening proceeds to visit The Mahabodhi temple. Later, returns back to the hotel. Rest of the day is free for leisure. Overnight at Bodhgaya.
Day 02: Bodhgaya – Nalanda – Rajgir - Bodhgaya
Morning drive to Rajgir (90 kms / 3.5 hrs). On arrival transfer to the hotel. Later on proceeds for sightseeing, covering Gridhkuta (vulture’s peak) – a hill on which Buddha mediated, Bimbisara prison – King Bimbisara was imprisoned here by his son Ajatshatru, Venuvan Vihara – a bamboo garden of King Bimbisara, who made it as gift to lord Buddha, Nalanda university – the centre of one of the oldest known universities of the world the ruin contains a number of Buddhist stupa & chaityas, monasteries, cells or rooms on four side with a central courtyard. Later on returns back to the hotel. Rest of the day is free for leisure. Overnight at Bodhgaya.
Day 03: Bodhgaya - Varanasi
Varanasi Bodhgaya - 5 days tour continues. Morning proceeds to visit The Mahabodhi Temple – the main shrine of supreme enlightenment, the Mahabodhi temple is unique amongst other north Indian temples. It is an architectural amalgamation of many centuries & cultures. The Bodhi tree – situated inside the temple premises, under which Buddha attained illumination, is believed to be the fourth or fifth generation off springs of the original. Later drive to Varanasi (250 kms / 4 hrs), on arrival transfer to the hotel. Overnight at Varanasi.
Day 04: Varanasi
Early morning proceeds to visit River Ganges – sightseeing of wonderful ghats (bank of river) enjoy boat ride with picturesque view of sunrise. Kashi Vishwanath Temple – near the ghats is the most sacred of the shrines dedicated to the lord Shiva. Originally constructed by the queen of Ondore in 1776. Returns back to the hotel.
Later on proceeds for sightseeing of Sarnath – situated about 10 km from Varanasi is the place where Buddha preached his first sermon after he had attained enlightenment at Bodhgaya. At museum in Sarnath can see the Ashok pillar with its four guardian lions that has been as India’s national emblem & followed by shopping. Return back to the hotel. Rest of the day is free for leisure. Overnight at Varanasi.
Day 05: Depart Varanasi
Morning drive & transfer to the airport for departure flight. Varanasi Bodhgaya - 5 days tour concludes.
