Over the decades, the nation makes a paramount contribution in offering invaluable perspectives of life through its philosophies and religions impacting millions of people across the world.
That is the reason people keep coming back to India years after years in search of soulful insights with faith and devotion. And that’s the reason, KUMBH MELA 2025 has experienced 3 million foreign visitors from various parts of the world including well known personalities and celebrities of diverse fraternities.
The interesting part is, if you have missed Kumbh Mela then you don’t need to worry at all as India never ceases to offer spiritualism. The revered destinations of Ayodhya, Varanasi and Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh together make a Sacred Triangle – a holy journey of a lifetime which you would never wish to miss. Let’s take you through the amazing travel and provide insights on their significance.
Ayodhya:
The birthplace of Lord Rama, a Hindu deity believed to be an incarnation of Hindu God – Vishnu, who is the second most significant deity in the Hindu Trinity. Lord Vishnu is widely known as the “Palanhar” (the one who protects the universe). Ayodhya is that holy city which is deeply rooted in the Hindu Epic – Ramayana that narrates the life and journey of Lord Rama inspiring millions of devotes across the world.

The recently inaugurated Ram Mandir (the temple of Lord Ram) has immediately drawn footfalls of pilgrims and tourists across the globe making it one of the popular holy destinations of India. Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhawan, and the ghats of the Sarayu River are the other sacred sites of the city.
Apart from Hindu establishments, Ayodhya has a rich history of Buddhism and Jainism. The place is considered to be the birth sites of five Jain Tirthankars, complimented by Shri Digambar Jain Mandir which is one of the important Jain shrines of the place. During the time of Chinese Buddhist pilgrim Xuanzang (7th century), Ayodhya was referred as a flourishing town of Buddhism. The city has Buddhist stupa and other elements that dates back to ancient history. It is a city where you will profoundly experience devotion, history and cultural richness.
Varanasi:
The holiest place of India according to Hindus that marks birth, marriage and death. As per the belief it is the place that offers the chance to achieve “Moksha” – liberation from the cycle of birth, death and rebirth and union with the divine powers. That is why millions of people across the globe rushes to Varanasi every year to experience the power of meditation, the path of devotion and selfless action.

The city offers a great opportunity for studying Hindi language, Yoga, Hindu mythology, Indian music and art and many such interesting subjects as the place exerts a strong pull with its holy atmosphere and spectacular ghats that holds the divine “Ganga Aarti”. This is one grand ritual worshipping of Mother Ganga performed by a series of priests with 4–5-tiered flame lamps (represents fire), flower petals (represents earth) and peacock feathered fans (represents air).
Besides meditation and study, Varanasi offers various sacred spots like -Kashi Viswanath Temple – dedicated to Lord Shiva, situated on the western banks of Ganga River.
Dashashwamedh Ghat – One of the oldest and sacred ghats where you can experience the famous “Ganga Aarti”.
Ramnagar Fort – Built in 18th century by Raja Balwant Singh, the Ramnagar Fort is constructed entirely by sandstone.
Bharatiya Kala Bhavan Museum – Located inside the famous Benaras Hindu University, BKBM hosts more than a lakh historical artefact, making it a paradise for history and art lovers.
Food – If you have visited Varanasi but have not tried the specialties then you are far from experiencing the authentic city. Mouthwatering malai, delicious lassi and flavoured paans should be on the list of must-try.
Prayagraj:

Formerly known as Allahabad, Prayagraj is one of the holiest cities of Uttar Pradesh, famous for religious and historical prominence. This is one of the most visited sites of India due to the Triveni Sangam – the confluence of three sacred rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati, where the KUMBH MELA takes place every 12 years. However, the place also hosts ARDH KUMBH and MAGH MELA that too hold high importance for the devotees and the visitors.
Besides the holy dip at the confluence of rivers, Prayagraj offers historical landmarks like Ashoka Pillar, Allahabad Fort, Khusro Bagh, Anand Bhavan and religious sites like ISKON temple, Bade Hanuman temple, Akshayavat temple and much more.
