Read this article on how we arranged an airport drop for a group of passengers picked from various points of the state.
This special operation was done in association with Swiss Consulate and Italian Consulate in Kolkata in order to organize local transportations for Swiss Air evacuation flight from Kolkata to Zurich on 25th April 2020. It was a very tough job during complete lockdown phase 2 with extremely limited communication and other operational challenges like almost zero availability of drivers. In spite of all the hurdles, we managed to evacuate more than 20 passengers from distant regions of Kalimpong, Bolpur and Mayapur and safely dropped them at Kolkata Airport as per their schedule.
But we were yet to face more challenges. On 25th April we needed to pick up 18 passengers from 8 different locations of Kolkata for an airport drop by 1300hrs. The situation became tremendously difficult as the bus scheduled for pick up got stuck in a narrow lane. Soon we connected with another driver who agreed to pick up some passengers in his car.
After much efforts the bus was able to move again. We planned fast and divided few locations between the car and bus drivers. Thus, we saved time and dropped all the guests for the scheduled flight. Thanks to our team and all our associates who took risks in this difficult time, held their nerves strong and never failed to deliver.
