International Visitors to India record all time high: WTTC

With domestic travel remaining an essential factor, the international tourism is now propelling the sector into a new era of growth, according to the report published by World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC). India has welcomed 20 million international visitors in 2024, that is 2.3 million more than the figures of 2019.

The total spend stands at ₹3.1TN in 2024, 9% above the previous peak of 2019. This has reaffirmed the country's status as a global destination with clear and tourism friendly policy falling in place. From rising number of flights and airports, growth of premium hotels and accommodations to easy visa-on-arrival and e-visa systems, India is becoming a top priority destination for international tourists which is expected to grow further in 2025
